On the occasion of the periodical exhibition of the Acropolis Museum on the Great Mysteries of Eleusis, the non profit organization Chorus, in collaboration with the Archaeological Site & Museum of Eleusis and under the auspices of the Acropolis Museum, invites you to take a tour which will provide participants with a complete experience of the unknown world of the most important mysteries of antiquity.

The event is aimed at young and old alike, and involves educational tours, where participants will have the opportunity to relive the past and experience the full procession of the initiates from ancient Athens to Eleusis.

Starting from the periodical exhibition at the Acropolis Museum, which was designed as a reference to the Telesterion, the tour will follow the course of the Great Procession of the Eleusinian Mysteries along the Sacred Way to the site of the holiest and most sacred mysteries of antiquity.

The project will last until 31/05/2018.

Tour route:

• Guided tour of the temporary exhibition “Eleusis. The great mysteries.” at the Acropolis Museum

• Guided tour of the Sacred Way (on a bus) with stops at various points of interest i.e. the monastery of Daphni, the sanctuary of Aphrodite at Daphne etc.

• Guided tour of the archaeological site and the museum of Eleusis

• Free time in Eleusis

• A brief presentation of the industrial heritage of Eleusis, as well as the selection of the city as 2021 Cultural Capital of Europe

• Return to Athens

Once we confirm – by phone or by replying to your email within 24 hours – that there are vacancies, the reservation is completed once you deposit the participation fee to the following bank account and send us proof of payment at [email protected]

The deposit must be made within two days of the booking date. Otherwise, the reservation will be automatically canceled.

The description should include the name and surname of the participant(s), as well as the preferred participation date. The sender pays all charges for the fund transfer.


Cancelation policy:

In the event of cancellation by the participant, if this is done in writing or by telephone more than 5 business days prior to the date of the tour for which he/she has registered, the deposited amount will be refunded to the participant’s bank account, with any bank charges entirely borne by the beneficiary. Otherwise (less than 5 business days) and if the participant does not wish to transfer the booking to another available date for the same tour, the amount cannot be refunded.

The tour can be canceled or postponed in case of adverse weather conditions or other factors, such as strikes in the archaeological sites, emergency situations, etc. In case of cancellation due to the above-mentioned reasons or due to a fault of our organization, the participation fee will be fully refunded. Cancellation and/or postponement of the tour will be announced on our website and our Facebook page. Each participant will also be notified by email to the address provided. Participants are responsible for monitoring their correspondence in case of any changes.
